Well Stated, Peter! I think most people would agree that once a write up happens the likelihood of the employee relationship being terminated is close to certain. I'd venture to guess most managers would understand that a write up is the first step in an agreement to part ways. Any manager or HR professional who would use documentation as a premature measure so as to motivate an employee to perform out of desperation clearly does not understand their leadership responsibility.
